Project Description

The “Anishinaabe Cultural and Language Class and Resource Project” will work with local communities and partners to create a first-ever televised Anishinaabe Language and Storytelling Series. Each episode will have a story and then language lessons. A complementary colouring book will also be created with local artists, youth and elder storytellers that illustrates the local stories and uses the local language.

Through 10 meetings, youth will collect stories from elders and will put the stories into print and have these translated into Anishinaabe/English depending on the language in which they have been recoded. The colouring book will then be turned into a free downloadable app for personal devices by a group of 20 high school students.
