ILC Funding Recipients
The Indigenous Languages and Cultures (ILC) Program, funded by the Government of Canada, supports First Nations communities in reclaiming, revitalizing, maintaining, and strengthening their languages and cultural knowledge. As the Regionally Designated Organization (RDO) for Ontario, First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres (FNCCEC) works in collaboration with their partner, Canadian Heritage, to support First Nation communities and organizations to develop and deliver necessary programs specific to language revitalization. The ILC funding supports locally driven language initiatives.
The following projects represent the meaningful work taking place across Ontario through ILC funding. These initiatives demonstrate the strength of community leadership and the ongoing commitment to ensuring First Nation languages continue to live, grow, and be shared with future generations.
FNCCEC is proud to recognize the communities and organizations receiving Indigenous Languages and Cultures (ILC) Program funding across Ontario. Through locally driven projects, communities are creating opportunities for language revitalization, language learning, cultural connection, knowledge sharing, and community engagement.
